Spring (Mar–May): Cool and increasingly sunny (roughly 8–15°C). Quiet compared with summer—good for beach walks, early blooms and independent cafes. Easter and bank-holiday weekends bring local markets and family crowds. Summer (Jun–Aug): Warmer and sunnier (15–22°C). Peak season: busiest beaches, shops and restaurants. Best time for the famous Whitstable Oyster Festival and seaside events (usually mid/late summer), live music and outdoor dining. Autumn (Sep–Nov): Mild and breezy (10–16°C), steadily quieter as tourists leave. Great off-peak value, seafood still excellent, and dramatic sunsets/storm-watching along the coast. Local harvest and food events may appear. Winter (Dec–Feb): Cold and blustery (2–8°C), lowest visitor numbers. Cosy pubs, seasonal lights and small Christmas markets make it atmospheric for a quieter escape.
