Thulusdhoo’s climate follows the Maldives’ simple rhythm: a dry northeast monsoon roughly November through April brings the most reliable sunshine, calmer seas and excellent visibility for diving and snorkeling. This period is peak season for resorts and guesthouses, so expect higher prices and fuller services, but also the most dependable conditions for water activities and island hopping. The southwest monsoon from about May to October brings more frequent rain, higher humidity and choppier seas; visibility for diving can be reduced and speedboat transfers are more likely to be rescheduled. The upside is fewer tourists, lower rates, and consistent swells that make this the island’s best season for surfing, with strong, rideable waves at nearby breaks. Transitional months (typically around April/May and October/November) are a practical compromise: you can still find sunny days and reasonable underwater visibility while taking advantage of shoulder-season pricing and lighter crowds. Temperatures remain tropical year-round, so planning should focus on tradeoffs between weather reliability, activity priorities (surfing versus diving versus relaxation), and budget.
