Mahé is at its sunniest and driest from roughly May through October, when southeast trade winds bring clearer skies, lower humidity, calmer seas and excellent visibility for snorkeling, diving and boat trips. This is the peak season for outdoor adventures and island-hopping, with more predictable weather and generally higher comfort for hiking and beach days. The wetter season runs from November through April, bringing warmer air, higher humidity and more frequent brief but heavy showers. Rainy months produce lush landscapes, fewer crowds and often lower prices, but expect more variable sea conditions, occasional rough surf and interruptions to small-boat activities. Plan around priorities: book the dry season for the most reliable conditions and water visibility, and choose the wet season for quieter beaches, greener scenery and off-peak rates while accepting heat, humidity and intermittent rain.
