The clearest, sunniest weather on Maafushi falls in the dry season from late November through April. Expect calm seas, excellent conditions for snorkeling, diving, and island hopping, and the most predictable days for beach time. The southwest monsoon from May through October brings more frequent rain, higher humidity, and choppier seas. Showers are often intense but brief, and there are still plenty of windows of good weather between storms. Prices and visitor numbers drop, making this the best time to find value and quieter beaches if you are comfortable with some weather risk.
