Spring (Mar–May): Cool and often crisp with improving days; moorland comes alive with green and wildflowers. Off-peak—good for quieter walks and Brontë-related sightseeing. Summer (Jun–Aug): Warmest and sunniest but changeable; busiest tourist season with peak crowds and the steam railway busier. Good for open-air walking and village cafés. Autumn (Sep–Nov): Crisp, colorful moors and atmospheric skies. Early autumn still reasonably mild; fewer visitors after peak season. Popular local events, including the village’s lively 1940s-style weekends and heritage happenings, often occur in late summer/early autumn. Winter (Dec–Feb): Cold, wet and atmospheric with shorter days; generally off-peak except for Christmas markets, Dickensian/holiday events and Santa specials on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Bring layers and waterproofs year-round.
